9th Week: Meet the 2cm Baby

Last Saturday, we had our second visit to the obgyn.
It was raining hard and we're such a procrastinator, hence the last minutes visit.

When we got there, there were 3 couples waiting for the doctor.
Then the moment of truth was finally here:
Nimbang berat badan!

The nurse tried hard not to give me judging look.
But it's 4kg already!
yaiikkss!

The cold weather, the waiting, the boredom just simply made me starving (I obviously don't learn anything from the 4 kg within 1 month).
After Anak Joglo read that (scary) signals, he offered me to buy something to eat, and rush to find some foods.

When he went back -from circle K- he had mineral water, loacker and.... chocolate bread!
So my crankyness took over and the drama queen once again (after a very long time) has emerged.

"is it chocolate? I don't like chocolate!"
"oh, I think they have some sort of pizza bread, do you want it instead?"
"whatttt????they have pizza bread but you chose to buy the chocolate one???!"
"I'm sorry baby, I can get them for you. I can go now"
"no!! it's too late..! Urgh I cannot believe it! after this time, you still don't know me at all! I LOVE PIZZA! I HATE CHOCOLATE!"
"so sorry baby, let me get it now, I'm just afraid that the pizza bread would not enuf, it's too small"
"NO! I change my mind. I don't feel like eating at all!" *the krucuk-krucuk sounds from my stomach begun*

So we I sat there in silent *masih ngambek judulnya*
Until the nurse called our names.
Dr. Ridwan greeted us, yada yada yada..
And
"ok, time to check the baby!"
"bukan periksa dalem kan dok?" *trauma Marisa*
"haha..bukan kok..tenang aja.."

And there it was.

"Hey, can you see it? the fetus is already there now..The last time you came, it's not there yet right? See..everything looks good...This is the head, and this is the butt hehe...It's only 2,2 cm long and now let's hear its heart beat"

I swear to God.
That's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
I could feel Anak Joglo's hand squeezed my hand and I didn't even look but I know he tried hard not to cry *cengeng is our middle names*\

"look look...! it's moving..gerak-gerak dia...joget-joget.. haha..Bisa liat ga? tuh, goyang-goyang dia ke kanan ke kiri.."

And we saw it.
A little peanut lagi joget-joget ke kanan ke kiri.
And we laughed.

Then we back to the doctor's seat holding hands.
With ear-to-ear smiles.
I could not careless (read: in denial) when the doctor saw my chart and asked me in surprise tone: "Dinda, 4 kg?????! normally in the first trimester the mommy only gains 1/2 kg. Tell me, what did you eat?"
err...the first two weeks was quite normal, but then the last two weeks was filled with junk food

So we stepped out of the doctor's office happily.

In the car.

Anak Joglo still looked amazed.
"I cannot believe how tiny he is...Only 2 cm baby! there's 2 cm fetus inside you! so tiny!"

And I (looked amazed too) replied:
"and I still cannot believe that his head is as the same size as his butt! I swear to God I thought we had twins!"

He replied
"hahaha..! btw, ngapain sih dia joget-joget keciy gitu beib? apakah efek kamu suka joget-joget ga jelas?"

I answered.
"kayanya karena kelaperan deh. Can I have the chocolate bread?"

And we exchanged look with smile. Then we shared the bread (which apparently tastes good).

"Thank you baby, the bread is delish! Now what to eat?"

"I'm thinking Pizza Hut!" *obviously didn't learn anything about no-junk-food policy from the doctor*

"what! I cannot eat junk food no more! how about steak? I think the 2 cm baby will love it"

"ok! hey 2cm baby, we'll feed you with steak tonight! Silahkan joget-joget lagi..."


See you next month 2cm baby! Hopefully you'll already be alot bigger than 2cm at that time!
