Yesterday we went to the doctor to have our monthly check-up. And guess what? I'm (or Kiddo, to be exact), already in my 28 weeks now..
Wow, can't believe that I'm now in my third (and final) trimester!
This means I can do maternity shopping now! we're getting closer to meet lil Kiddo!
Well, before entering the final trimester, I guess we want to summarize what had happened during the second trimester.
1. We started the second trimester by holding a "
4 Bulan Pengajian" for lil Kiddo. You can read the complete story
here :)
2. Just like in the
First Trimester, I didn't crave for any particular food. However, returning home for good was greeeaaattt... I could eat lotsa Indonesian food anytime I want! This phase ended during the 5th month. The craving for Indonesian food has shifted to western food. AND sweet-fattened-snacks (you know, chocolate muffin, candies, chocolate). AND back to
masakan rumahan. From this, I bet you can conclude that the not-yet-look-pregnant has changed into a be-careful-you're-gonna-exceed-the-maximum-weight-gain-before-your-due-date.
3. We had our first fasting month together this year as a husband and wife. Dr. Ridwan allowed me to fast this year, since I had passed the 4th month. The first three weeks, I (or you, Kiddo) did great! No nausea, no ravenous, no over fatigue. BUT, on the fourth week, jreng-jreng! everyday is like ga-makan-tiga-hari day! And my other pregnant friend just calmly said "welcome to the fifth month! when you CAN eat everything without gagging and you just simply CANNOT stop feeling hungry". So, batal 10 hariiii... huaaa...
4. Since the super-hungry-phase has started, of course I went nuts on Lebaran Day. This is the first time my ankles (and the whole body part actually) were swollen. Who can refuse ketupat dan rekan-rekan??
5. OK. This is
THE MOST EXCITING PART. We decided that we DO wanna know the sex of our baby, so we can choose
the names that we've been prepared. Some people told us not to rely on the USG result for the sex of the baby. But the first time Dr. Ridwan checked on the baby's sex, he was SO SURE and then CONVINCED us that our baby is.....
A BOY!! (walaupun kita udah nyureng-nyurengin mata dan nanya, yang mana sih dok??).
So we started to spread the news to our family. Funnily enough, some of the aunties and the uncles did not believe that it's gonna be a boy. They told me that I am not embodied the typical women who pregnant with boy, since everytime they met me, I've always put my make up on. Let me clarify, the time that I met those uncles and aunts was during family events (wedding, birthday, arisan, you name it). Kagak mungkin gue dateng krundulan pake piyama (walaupun kalo boleh milih, I prefer to wear them). Their doubts lead to my doubt. So, the next time I visited Dr. Ridwan, I insisted him to check on the sex of the baby again. He was (again) so sure, but did the check once again. "See..it's a boy...I've told you!" So, we spread the news (again) and tried to convince the family that it's gonna be a boy. Some of them was so persistent, until I "threat" them with this: "OK, how about if we make a bet? If it's really a boy, you buy us the stroller for him? huahuhaua.." Hearing this, they promptly told me: "OK, I believe you it's gonna be a boy!" huahuaha...ga mau rugi.
6. Another memorable moment was when lil Kiddo's
kicking and moving (and I could feel it) for the first time!! It's seriously, completely, truly indescribable moment we've ever had. Nahh...I lied..It actually feels like you eat something and it's still alive and moving around in your belly and ready to come out. In a good way. OK, another lie. I sometimes still freak out when he kicks so hard inside, it reminds me of an old-scarry-Indonesian-movie which I accidentally watched when I was in elementary school (
serombongan dukun minum ramuan yang udah di jampi-jampi, tiba-tiba ada makhluk kaya kepiting keluar dari perut masing-masing, dengan tangan yang mencakar-cakar dan darah kemana-mana. Seriously, RC*I aired the show on lunch hour. Sick!). But now, I can accept it.. (thanks to Dr. Okita who gave me therapy on this).
7. Lil Kiddo perhaps wants to play around with me when he knows that I am a bit "terrified" feeling his moves, so of course he decided to be a SUPER ACTIVE fetus inside. He kicks and moves around
a lot. Everytime we visit the doctor, he (the doctor, not Lil Kiddo) always makes remarks like this: "
waduh, bayinya gerakannya aktif banget" or "
ini kok tendangannya kuat banget ya.." or "
ini bayi gerak-gerak terus ya, ga bisa diem.." And the jackpot was when we had USG for a complete screening, but Dr. Ridwan found it quite difficult for few minutes. He then said "
bu, ini kenapa posisi anaknya begini ya?" And the next thing we saw was Lil Kiddo doing some acrobatic pose, that is so hard to explain.
Baiklah, tangan menekuk ala cleopatra sampe ke belakang kepala, kaki sikap lilin sampe ke kepala dan dia tiba-tiba nguap GEDE banget abis itu nganga aja...casual...To get the picture, our model will show you the hand movement:

Okita would kill me if he knew that I uploaded this pic. Sorry baby, but you're disgustingly hillarious here..I just have to post it...
We laughed so hard and tried to figure out how the hell he inherits such habit? Until........
One day, at 3 am in the morning, I found out that Anak Joglo has the EXACT-SAME-POSE with the baby. Including tangan cleopatra dan mulut menganga. So, the next morning I told him this and said "it's you! you did this to him!" yet, he didn't believe me. He was so happy when one day I "accidentally" redo the sikap lilin pose and shouted "haha! it's you! you also did it to him!" Although I tried hard explaining to him that I only did that because p*ntat gue pegel parah, he refused to listen. I guess we both did it to you, Lil Kiddo! Maafkaaann...
7. Since I didn't rarely documenting the pregnancy (and Lil Kiddo himself. Yep, we don't even have the print out of the USG result) moments, so we decided to do an official maternity photos. 'll upload the pics later. We did the maternity photo during the 6th month of pregnancy, which I personally think would be the perfect timing to have good maternity photo result (you know, not too fatty, not to much stretchmark, not to big, no puser bodong yet). One of the few "documentations" I have during my pregnancy was this *kibas rambut* :
baiklah Okita, kita satu sama
Me, four months pregnant at that time, succesfully embarassing myself. Even the washing machine failed to hide my baby bump. One of my friends even sent me messages: "is it you? are you pregnant or simply gaining weight?" bangke kamuh Kekem...!! Untung gue hamil beneran huahuahuhaa...
But that's okeh, rejekimu Lil Kiddo...Berkat inih, terbelilah si water dispenser dengan harga murah huahuhaa *nyembunyiin malu*
8. On more serious note, at the end of the second trimester, we tried to learn to be a not-so-clueless-parents for you Lil Kiddo. We love you so very much we willingly sacrified our weekends (Saturday AND Sunday morning to be exact), to attend some classess which we think would be necessary for us to take care of you later. So, we're not mastering Basic Breastfeeding and Hypnobirthing, yet. But we'll get there :)
Someone gave me advice me to enjoy the second trimester as this is the most comfortable phase during the pregnancy. She's right! this is the most enjoyable and comfortable for me. So, to other mommies-to-be, enjoy your second trimester! it's a bliss!
